Falchion MET 244431.jpg

A Falchion is a one-handed, single-edged sword, typically with a slight curve to the blade. These swords were primarily used for quick slashing attacks against opponents. These swords saw use throughout the 13th to 16th centuries.

Usually found to be cheaper and of lower quality than other swords of the era, such as the longsword. As such, they were used primarily by peasants. However, the Falchion still saw use by some Knights in combat.
